An opportunity for one to receive $100,000, quit his or her job, and travel the world seems, in a word, fishy. But that’s exactly what Prana (also stylized as prAna), a sustainable clothing company, is offering with their Day Job to Dream Job Promotion.

Read on for all the details and specifics pertaining to the contest, including how applications can be filed, how winners will be selected, and much more.

A True No-Strings-Attached Contest

Prana’s travel contest has no strings attached; there aren’t any application fees or ridiculous requirements to speak of. Entries must be submitted by 16 September, and applicants need to be both legal residents of the United States and over the age of 21. Applications consist of a short video describing one’s dream job, which is meant to be enjoyed and furthered while abroad. The winner will be asked to quit his or her current job, and the $100,000 payment will be issued in quarterly installments of $25,000. Admittedly, it’s rare to see a contest-application page that’s so straightforward, but applicants need only fill out a brief form and attach (or link to) their application video.

Selecting a Winner

Per Prana’s application page, a winner will be selected by company representatives, based upon a finalist’s “passion, boldness, originality, personality, and quality of entry.” The number of individuals who will serve on the review board wasn’t specified, and it’ll likely take quite a bit of time to check out each applicant’s footage; a specific timetable for the review process wasn’t provided. The winner will be expected to send periodic updates on his or her global journey, though it’s unclear from the application page what these updates will involve. Applications will be accepted until 16 September, once again, and Prana officials were very careful to note that late applications won’t be processed. Accordingly, anyone who’s thinking of entering the contest should be sure to do so before the deadline. Aside from meeting the deadline and recording a fantastic video that showcases one’s personality and passion, Prana seems to have designed the contest in a way that prevents stressing out over the details.
